Robbie’s Falls

Posted by

Plan today was to head out to Robbie’s Falls and Compton Falls after watching CK Waterfalls latest video on the two, but maybe I should have watched the video a bit more closely before driving out of mobile range, because I didn’t manage to find the start of Compton Falls and hence today ended up being an easy stroll out to Robbie’s Falls, and a bit of driving and getting lost in the harvested coupe near Compton Falls.

Robbie’s Falls is pretty easy to find it you’ve got it programmed into your phone, but the general gist is drive out to Judbury and from the junction in Judbury that takes you towards Glen Huon, keep going along Lonnavale Road for about 6.5kms, keep going straight ahead on Denison Road (don’t turn right down Lonnavale Road) at just past 11kms, you turn right to stay on Denison Road until about 16.5kms where you’ll come to a sort of four way junction and you turn onto McDougalls Road (unsigned) and follow that for another 1,1km. You’ll cross a pretty big creek on the way and then see a small road down to your right. Drive down here a couple of hundred metres and you’ll find a little pull off on the right where a couple of cars can park just before the end of the road.

You should see a small sign, and from here just follow your nose along a pretty little track to the falls.

The walks about 3kms return, and it’s a pretty obvious track that follows the creek. It can be a bit slippery and rough underfoot, but most people will have no problems walking out here.

I was out there for about an hour and twenty minutes, including time spent at the falls.
