The world nearly ended today.
And, no, I’m not being melodramatic.
OK, maybe I’m being a little bit melodramatic.
But it is true to say that Tasmanian’s have no idea how close they came to a complete meltdown of their power systems today … and how do I know this?
Because I nearly caused it.
Deliberately.
Yep, I don’t like to write about work stuff (we grow, we grow, … it’s off to work I go), but I got to tag along on a Hydro Tour today as part of my education into the energy sector in Tasmania and as part of these tours not only did I learn a lot, but I also got to see many cool things, like the amazing floors and stain glass windows we have in our power stations …
That power stations have the world’s most amazing collection of bike locks (at least that’s the story I’m going with) …
And of course I got to see the cool power stations themselves …
But there were also … these …
Big red buttons, and there were lots of them …
And you have no idea, none, how hard it was for me not to press them. All of them.
You’re all just very lucky that I really want to ride the Derby trails this weekend …
Dumb ways to die, there’s so many dumb ways to die …
